Driver plunges into river, two die in auto crash in Ogun

NIGERIA: A DRIVER, who was the only occupant of a Nissan car, has plunged into river along Ijebu-Ode/Benin Expressway while two others also lost their lives on Kobape-Abeokuta road in Ogun State.
The Public Relations Officer of Traffic Compliance and Enlightenment Corps, Mr. Babatunde Akinbiyi, told GatewayMail that over-speeding led to the death of the driver.
Akinbiyi explained that the driver of the saloon car with registration number MUS 153 DW lost control and plunged into the river.
According to him, the corpse had being retrieved and deposited at the General Hospital Mortuary, Ijebu-Ode.
Similarly, Akinbiyi said another auto crash occurred along Kobape -Abeokuta Expressway leading to the death of the two occupants and two others who were seriously injured.
He said that the accident involved a Toyota Sequoia Ash colour car with registration number KJA 12 AV.
The TRACE spokesman stated that the auto crash occurred when one of the tyres of the vehicle conveying the four occupants burst while on motion.
According to him, the injured victims were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta for treatment while the corpses of the deceased had been deposited at mortuary of the State Hospital, Abeokuta.
