NIGERIA: THE Advanced People’s Democratic Alliance (APDA) has given the judiciary kudos on its decision to establish special courts in the country.

The party specifically said that it was in support of the decision taken under the headship of Chief Justice Walter Onoghen and, by extension, the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to fast track trial of corruption cases.

The APDA also said in a news release signed by its Publicity Secretary, Comrade Tosin Adeyanju, and made available to GatewayMail that it commended the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mr. Shehu Malami (SAN), for his unrelenting efforts in bringing those who looted or aided in looting the nation’s funds to justice.

“We are of the unrepentant stance that corruption is the biggest challenge to the sustainable development of our country and only its eradication can return our nation back to the part of development, national cohesion and social inclusiveness,” it also said.

The new party stated that it applauded the whistle blower policy of the Federal Government, while urging Nigerians to stand up and expose corruption and corrupt practices in all ramifications.

It also said: “We thank all Nigerians who have spoken up against the machinations of agents of destabilization and urge all Nigerians to stand together and work towards an indivisible united, peaceful and prosperous nation.”

“APDA rejects hate speech and hateful conduct and urge the relevant agencies to resist agents and promoters of hate speech, impunity and disregard for our ethics and values,” the party maintained.

It further pleaded: “We urge all Nigerians to get their permanent voters cards and ensure that only credible persons are voted into positions of public trust.  Please step forward and be counted.”
