PDP loyalists seek support for Daniel over PDP chairmanship race

NIGERIA: THE bid of the former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, to become the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is getting more support.
GatewayMail learnt that a group of some PDP members nationwide has offered to support Daniel, particularly with the release of five minutes jingles, which is being spread on the social media and the airwaves.
The jingles not only extoled the virtues of Daniel, but explained that the ex-Governor is the most competent to lead the party at this point in time.
The jingles, which were recorded in major languages in the country, also listed series of achievements recorded by Daniel, coupled with his enormous political experience.
Similarly, the loyalists to the former Governor stated that he (Daniel) is fully prepared to repackage the party to regain its lost glory with optimism that the party would win at the 2019 election under his leadership.
The loyalists maintained that Daniel, who ruled as two-term Governor on the platform of PDP between 2003 and 2007, and 2007 and 2011, and fondly called OGD, is the most competent and reliable for the exalted position of the party.
“OGD is the best candidate, he is reliable, dependable, committed and competent to lead the party to success,” they said.
The supporters of Daniel urged party members to rally round Daniel in ensuring his victory to lead the party, particularly in the 2019 general elections.
