Kayode-Adedeji, a one-time Zonal Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) South-West, commended the planning committee for packaging the event, which will remain a reference point in journalism, particularly the social media.

According to him, the planning committee members include Funke Fadugba (former Chairman, NUJ Lagos State Council, Remi Olugbenro (Manager, News, Federal Radio Corporation, Paramount FM), Dr. Goke Rauf (Director of Communications, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta), Engr. Dideolu Falobi, Bolaji Amusan (a movie actor popularly known as Mr. Latin) and Dele Odule (a veteran movie actor).

Kayode-Adedeji stated that he was overwhelmed by genuine support the platform received and has been enjoying since its establishment.

According to him, such development was a sign of good things to come on the social media platform.

“Let me say this from the bottom of my heart, for the support you gave me and our Penpushing platform, which led to a successful outing,” he said, adding: “God will continue to support you all.  I am profusely grateful. You will not lack.”

“You added value to my life and the platform.  God will continue to add value to your lives,” he said.

The founder of the now famous news dissemination platform urged members not to relent in their efforts towards the leading role Penpushing is playing in propagating authentic news globally.

“Let me also emphasise that we are all stakeholders on this laudable project, and we should keep the flag flying, and I’m optimistic that our individual roles towards the growth of the platform will remain indelible,” the Ijesha born prince said.

Kayode-Adedeji further said that the platform would not compromise its integrity, adding that within the operations of the platform, the management may have “step on toes,” but should not been seen as deliberate, rather it was to inject sanity and discipline for the benefits of all.

“No doubt, we may have stepped on toes while discharging our duties, but I want to apologize for any shortcomings in this regard.  But, the ‘infractions’, so to say, occurred in the overall interest of all members, as a way to inject discipline, fair play, conformity with our objectives and ensure that credibility of the platform is not compromised.  Please bear with us; we are all stakeholders on this laudable project,” he emphasised.

The veteran journalist also added that as the platform adds more years, members should endeavour to always participate, as “we are all stakeholders and should not fold our arms at all time.”

Kayode-Adedeji maintained that the platform, which has members across the globe, shall continue to be vibrant.

He urged members, who could not attend the lecture, but interested to have free copy of the ceremony brochure for keep, as it contained 256 members, to contact 08073463656, 08033186392 or e-mail penpushing@yahoo.com penpushingplatform@gmail.com.‎
