Penpushing maiden anniversary lecture holds in Ogun today

NIGERIA: ALL is now set for the maiden anniversary lecture of Penpushing, a social media platform, where former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Oye Ibidapo-Obe, will speak on “Building Parameters for Trust to Achieve Political and National Growth.”

The event, which holds on Wednesday (July 19, 2017) at the Marquee Events Centre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has a journalism icon, Prof. Idowu Sobowale, as the Chairman while Towulade of Akinale, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye, is the royal father of the day.

The Chairman, Planning Committee of the anniversary, Deaconess Olufunke Fadugba, said in a news release made available to GatewayMail that great arrangements have been concluded to ensure that the event remains a befitting and memorable one‎.

Union of Journalists, said that the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, and some past civilian governors and military administrators, who include Chief Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Commodore Kayode Olofinmoyin are “Penpushing Fathers of the Day.”

She further said that no fewer than 500 participants, who include 256 members of the platform, would attend the event.

According to her, other eminent personalities that would be in attendance are Mrs. Bola Obasanjo, the wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Iyalode of Yorubaland, Chief (Mrs.) Alaba Lawson, as “Mothers of the Day”.

Several professional bodies, some academic institutions, and security organisations, Fadugba added, have indicated their interest to be present at the ceremony.

She further explained that discussants on the occasion include Dr. Niran Malaolu (Founder of Rockcity FM and ex-Ogun State Information Commissioner), Barrister Benjamin Ogunmodede, Tope Adaramola (Chairman, NIPR, Ogun State) and Chris Nwandu (President, Nigeria Association of Professional Bloggers).

Others, Fadugba added, are Alhaji Sarafa Tunji Ishola (former Minister of Mines and Steel), Prof. Tope Popoola of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, ‎Mr. Samuel Ogunjemiluwa (the Head, Electoral Operations, INEC), Peju Osoba (a woman rights activist), Ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello and Toun Okewale (Founder, Women Radio).

She, however, enjoined participants and other guests to be seated latest by 9.30am as the programme will start by 10am prompt.
