Committee chair assures on Penpushing maiden anniversary lecture

NIGERIA: THE Chairperson, Planning Committee of the Penpushing platform public lecture, Mrs. Funke Fadugba, has assured that the event would serve as a positive reference point in some years to come.
Fadugba, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos Council, also said that individuals and corporate organisations have offered support to the committee in ensuring the success of the maiden lecture.
The Chairperson, who disclosed these to journalists after the committee’s meeting at the weekend held at Daktard Hotels in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, however, encouraged other members to join genuine efforts of Penpushing founded by a journalist, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, at giving refreshing phase to journalism by contributing to the programme.
She stated that provision for advertisements and congratulatory messages to be placed by interested individuals and corporate bodies on the programme brochure was available and should be embraced.

Fadugba disclosed that the lecture would hold on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 by 10 am at Marquee Events Centre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.
She also emphasised that the guest lecturer, Prof. Oye Ibidapo-Obe, a one-time Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, has assured of a quality and well-researched lecture with the theme “Building Parameters for Trust to Achieve Political and National Growth.”
The committee chairperson also said that a journalism icon, Prof. Idowu Sobowale, would be the chairman while Towulade of Akinale, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye, is the royal father of the day.
Fadugba said that serving and former governors, professional bodies, schools, associations and unions, among others, would attend the event which the guests are expected to arrive the venue by 9.30am.
