Ogun: Two prostitutes in police net for killing customer

NIGERIA: THE Ogun State Command has apprehended two prostitutes for allegedly stabbing a customer to death during an argument over breach of sexual contract.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told GatewayMail on Wednesday that the incident occurred at KS Hotel in Ifo, the headquarter of Ifo Local Government.

According to Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, the middle-aged victim, Adeyinka Olayinka, who was supervising the construction work at his building, decided to engage a prostitute for the night.

The police spokesman disclosed that an argument ensued between Olayinka and the prostitute, Kudirat Raji, popularly known as Angela at the hotel, when the man allegedly refused to fulfil his agreement.

Oyeyemi further said that while the duo engaged in the argument, a colleague of the prostitute, Esther Basiru, broke a bottle and attacked the deceased’s friend, who was at the scene.

Oyeyemi said that thereafter‎ Angela also used part of the broken bottle to stab Olayinka on the armpit, thereby cutting one of his nerves consequent upon which he bled to death.

He said: “The men of Ogun State Police Command on Tuesday 30th of May 2017 arrested two prostitutes for killing a middle aged man in an hotel situated in Ifo area of the state.

“The two suspects Kudirat Raji ‘f’ a.k.a (Angela) and Esther Basiru are at KS Hotel Ifo where the victim one Adeyinka  Olayinka ‘m’ who was supervising a construction work going on in his building site decided to pass the night on the fateful day.”

Oyeyemi further explained: “Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim contracted Kudirat Raji to pass the night with him on an agreed amount, but the deceased reneged on their agreement which led to hot argument between them.

“While the argument was going on, Esther Basiru who is a friend to Angela broke a bottle and injured the deceased’s friend who was at the scene while Angela used the broken part of the bottle to stab the deceased on the armpit thereby cutting one of his nerves, consequent upon which he bled to death.”

He stated that the Manager of the hotel quickly alerted the police and the Divisional Police Officer Ifo Division, Anthony Haruna, led his men to the scene and promptly arrested the suspects.

The police image maker said that the Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the transfer of the case to homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for investigation.

After the completion of investigation, according to Oyeyemi, the two women would be charged to court. (May 31, 2017).
