CANADA: ONE year after her death, Toronto Police are still searching for the yet-to-be-identified killer of a woman, Candice Rochelle Bobb, just as her mother is appealing for help to unravel the mystery behind the death.

The 33-year-old Bobb was killed along Jamestown Crescent in north Etobicoke and the police have now offered $50,000 (N15.7 million) reward for anyone who could provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or those who killed the deceased.

GatewayMail gathered that the woman was shot dead around 11pm May 15, last year at a park in Rexdale area at the time she sat in a car.

It was further learnt that the shooting happened shortly after Bobb with her boyfriend, his cousin and a teammate just came back from a basketball game held in Scarborough.

While lamenting the demise of Bobb, who was killed when she was five months pregnant with her child, Kyrie, her mother, Jackie Weir said that she really missed her daughter.

It would be recalled that Bobb gave birth to Kyrie through caesarean after the shooting, but three weeks after the child died at the Sunnybrook’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

“We know someone in the neighbourhood knows something,” Weir bemoaned at a press conference held on Wednesday at the Toronto police headquarters, adding: “We are asking each and everyone to just search your heart.  She could be your sister, she could be your daughter.”

She also lamented: “We miss her laughter, we miss her smile, we miss her beautiful, beautiful hazel eyes.”

“Get your lawyer and turn yourself in,” Weir said apparently referring to the unidentified killer, adding: “You don’t deserve to have your freedom.  We haven’t been free for over a year.”

The police said that they are yet to give up their search for the killer of the woman as they would return to her former abode at Jamestown Crescent and John Garland Boulevard for further enquiries.

“We have progressed since May of 2016,”Toronto police Det. Sgt. Mike Carbone, said, adding: “We are continuing to move forward and we expect that we will continue to do so until we find this person.”
