Ogun police nab woman for killing her 16-year-old son

NIGERIA: A HOUSEWIFE, Bisola Olukoya, has run into police trouble for allegedly killing her 16-year-old son.
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested her after she committed the crime at 40 Ifelodun Street, Onifade-Itele town of the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident to GatewayMail on Friday, said that the suspect committed the crime.
“One Mrs. Bisola Olukoya of number 40, Ifelodun Street, Onifade Itele has been arrested by the Ogun State Command for beating her 16 years old son Toheeb Olukoya to death,” Oyeyemi said.
He said that the incident occurred March 17 when the suspect, while beating the deceased, hit him on the head with plank, consequence upon which the boy collapsed and died.
The police image maker added that the suspect after the incident hurriedly buried the deceased in connivance with her husband and ran away.
Oyeyemi stressed that immediately the police got the information, the Divisional Police Officer, Itele Division, Lukmon Adejumo, led detectives to investigate the matter.
He also said that the suspect was later traced and arrested at Iyana-Ipaja in Lagos.
According to him, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.
Oyeyemi said: “He equally appealed to general public to always control their temperament especially when correcting their wards.”
