Husband defiles 13-year-old sister-in-law in Ogun

NIGERIA: POLICEMEN in Ogun State have apprehended a 35-year-old man, Kingsley Chigbo, for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old girl.
The girl is said to be his wife’s younger sister, the state Police Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said.
Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, who confirmed this to GatewayMail on Sunday, said that the suspect committed the offence at 38 Asikolaye Street, Gasline Ijoko Ota.
“The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Kingsley Chigbo, m, for defiling his wife 13yrs old younger sister,” Oyeyemi said.
He further said that the incident was reported to the police at Sango Ota Divisional Headquarters by the immediate past Coordinator of the Child Protection Network (CPN) in Ogun State, Mrs. Peju Osoba.
The police spokesman explained that Osoba reported that one of her staff in Ota, who went for an enlightenment talk with students Of Bannis College Ijoko Ota, gave her the information.
He said that after the enlightenment talk, the girl called the staff to a corner and confessed to her that her elder sister’s husband has been having sex with her under duress with threat that he will kill her if she ever tells anyone.
Oyeyemi explained that upon the report, the Divisional Police Officer of Ota, Akinsola Ogunwale, led detectives to the suspect’s house where he was promptly arrested.
The image maker further said that when confronted by the girl, the suspect admitted committing the crime.
Oyeyemi, however, said that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Anti Human Trafficking and Child Labour Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation. (March 20, 2017).
