45-year-old father defiles 12-year-old daughter

NIGERIA: MEN of the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended a 45-year-old man, Adisa Olayide, for allegedly defiling his 12-year-old daughter in Ilaro in Yewa South Local Government area of the state.

The Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, at the weekend, told GatewayMail that the suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged by the victim who is Olayide’s biological daughter.

“The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Adisa Olayide, a 45-year-old man for defiling his 12-year-old daughter,” Oyeyemi said, adding: “The suspect was arrested on Wednesday 16th of November following a complaint from the daughter.”

Oyeyemi said that the victim had cried to the police station and reported her father, adding that she told policemen that her mother had died.

According to her, Olayide had remarried to three wives after the demise of her mother, wondering why her father chose to spoil her life by having sex with her.

“Upon her complaint, the Divisional Police Officer, Ilaro Division, detailed police detectives to effect the arrest of the suspect,” the police spokesman stated.

Oyeyemi explained that the Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.
