Amosun approves new Olu of Obada, installation holds tomorrow

NIGERIA: THE installation and presentation of staff of office and instrument of appointment to the new Olu of Obada Oko, Oba Oluwafemi Abiodun Solaja, will hold tomorrow, Friday at Obada along Abeokuta-Sango-Lagos

Road.

GatewayMail learnt that the ceremony would hold at Adeoye Lambo Memorial High School field by 10am.

The development followed the approval of the monarch’s appointment by the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

“Senator Ibikunle Amosun has approved the appointment and installation of Oba Oluwafemi Abiodun Solaja of Erunbe Section, Egba Division as the new Olu of Obada Oko in Ewekoro Local Government Area of the State,” a release signed by the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko, explained.

Ojuko explained that the appointment became necessary following the demise of Oba Mufutau Sofidiya of the Igbore Section, Egba Division who joined his ancestors in July, 2015.

The Commissioner stated that the appointment of Oba Solaja was in accordance with Section 23 (1) of the Chief Laws of Ogun State, Nigeria.
