Truck kills two on motorcycle as one escapes death

NIGERIA: TWO persons on motorcycle yesterday lost their lives while another person narrowly escaped death in an accident along the Abeokuta-Sango expressway in Ogun State.
The Public Relations Officer of Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Mr. Tunde Akinbiyi, told GatewaMail that the auto crash occurred in front of Pakoto High School, Ifo in Ifo Local Government area.
Akinbiyi explained that the accident involved two tipper lorries and a commercial motorcycle plying the route.
He stated that the truck driver heading towards Sango from Abeokuta lost control as a result of over-speeding, while attempting to overtake another truck.
The TRACE image maker explained that in the process he lost control and rammed into the oncoming motorcycle, killing the two occupants on the spot.
Akinbiyi said that the vehicles are white Iveco truck with registration number KRD 981 DO and a blue colour Man Diesel truck registration number EPE 757 SO, and Bajab Motor Cycle with registration number KSF 382 QD.
The image maker also added that the corpse of the two victims have been deposited at the morgue of State Hospital, Ifo.
Akinbiyi stated that the injured person was also taken to the hospital where he is receiving treatment as at the time of this filing this report.
