NIGERIA: FORMER Ogun State Head of Service (HOS), Mrs. Iyabo Orebowale Yusuff, will be the cynosure of all eyes at the upcoming VIP GIG of The Doyen Magazine.

She will be recognised for her impressive performance in the civil service, particularly her achievements during her short stint as the HOS, about five years after retirement, the Publisher of the magazine, Desmond Nwachukwu, said in a release made available to GatewayMail.

Nwachukwu explained that the event, which is an acknowledgement of excellence, dedication to duty, patriotism and sacrificial contributions to humanity, will hold in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on November 13, 2016.

“The decision to celebrate her was reached after a team of researchers x-rayed her sojourn in the service and interacted with people across the state including serving and retired civil/public servants, community leaders, former/serving members of the State Executive Council and royal fathers,” Nwachukwu stressed.

He added: “The researchers’ findings are to say the least, heart-warming.  One fact that bears eloquent testimony to Princess Yusuff’s exemplary life style is the decision of a former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, to reschedule his trip abroad in her honour.

“It seems to be an African way to wait for our heroes and heroines to die before appreciating them for their roles in making our society a better place, but as an organisation we are of the firm belief that in a society where majority of those seeking or holding public offices are driven by selfish interest, the few leaders who are passionate about the positive turnaround of the fortunes of a greater number of the citizens through the philosophy of others before self, should be celebrated while they live.”

The Doyen Publisher stressed: “This in our opinion will serve as a motivating factor to such people and possibly challenge those on the other side of the divide to thread the path of honour.”

He explained that among the dignitaries expected at the event are Daniel, a former Deputy Governor of Ogun State and member of the Seventh Senate, Senator Gbenga Kaka, the honouree’s husband, Chief Adetokunbo Fassy Yusuff, a Prince of Remo Kingdom, Prince Babatunde Victor Ajayi, the Ogun State  Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Architect Olamilekan Adegbite, other members of the State Executive Council and the Chairman, Remo Traditional Council, Oba Adewale Osiberu, the Elepe of Epe and other respected monarchs.

Hey excellent website! Does running a blog such as this take a great deal of work? I’ve absolutely no knowledge of programming but I had been hoping to start my own blog soon. Anyway, should you have any recommendations or techniques for new blog owners please share. I understand this is off topic but I simply had to ask. Kudos!
