Police nab cultists at initiation ground

NIGERIA: OGUN State Police Command has arrested four suspected cultists in Olorunwa area of Ota in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area of Ogun State.
The suspected cultists were nabbed while carrying out initiation for new members, the state newly confirmed Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi said in a news release made available to GatewayMail.
The suspects, according to him, are Adeleke Busayo (19), Adetunji Joshua (25), Adeyemi Olusegun (19), and Usman Quyum (18).
Oyeyemi said that the suspects were arrested within the community during initiation into the dreaded Haoi Pirate Confraternity.
“Policemen attached to Onipanu Division acting on a tip off from the members of the community were led to the scene by the DPO CSP Baba Maiyaki and got the suspects arrested,” the police image maker said, adding that their kingpin, who is simply known as Bambo escaped.”
The arrested suspects have all made confessional statement, he said, adding: “The Commissioner of Police CP Ahmed Iliyasu has directed that the suspects be transferred to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation.”
Oyeyemi further said that Iliyasu directed that the escaped suspect be arrested as soon as possible.
