Tragedy! Bride kills groom two months to wedding day

NIGERIA: A GROOM – who planned to marry in two months time – has been killed by his bride in Ijebu-Ode,
Ogun State.
An angry Omolara Oluwagbemi Abosede killed her prospective husband, Sodiq Dauda, during a domestic quarrel over financial disagreement.
The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told GatewayMail that the suspected killer has been apprehended by men of the state police command.
“The men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested one Omolara Oluwagbemi Abosede for killing her husband, one Sodiq Dauda,” the police image maker said.
Oyeyemi explained that Omolara killed Sodiq when they had altercation over non-rendering of proper account of the gas business owned by Sodiq Dauda, but being managed by his fiancée.
He explained: “The incident happened when the couple whose wedding was slated for December this year has minor disagreement which emanated from non-rendering proper account of the gas business which the late husband entrusted to the wife.”
According to Oyeyemi, the suspect, during interrogation, claimed that Sodiq beat her and sent her away from their apartment, but when she called the mother-in-law, she told her to go back as she would be on her way soon to settle the rift.
He further explained that Omolara stated that immediately she got home, Sodiq descended on her and beat her mercilessly.
In the process, according to Omolara, the proposed husband broke a bottle and threatened to stab her to death.
Oyeyemi said that the suspect killer told her interrogators that it was at that point that she too grabbed a kitchen knife to stab Sodiq in the rib.
The police image maker said: “The victim was rushed to Ijebu-Ode General Hospital by the policemen at Igbeba Division, but gave up the ghost the following day while undergoing treatment.”
Oyeyemi further stated that the Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that Omolara be transferred to the homicide section of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligent Department (SCIID) for further investigation.
