NIGERIA: A NON-GOVERNMENTAL Organisation founded by ace movie artiste, Bolaji Amusan, often called ‘Mr Latin’, has appointed its Director of Communication and Media Affairs.
He is a veteran journalist, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, whose appointment was conveyed to him in a letter signed by Amusan, who is the Executive Director of Mr. Latin’s Foundation.
The Foundation said that the appointment of Kayode-Adedeji was based on his unprecedented achievements in his chosen profession.
It further explained that the choice of the journalist, a one-time Zonal Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), was also based on his humanitarian and philanthropic gestures.
The Director of Communication and Media Affairs, the Foundation further stated, would be in charge of the media activities of the Foundation, both within and outside Nigeria.
Kayode-Adedeji, once an executive member of the Central Working Committee of the NUJ, who has won several awards in journalism, has over two decades of journalism experience.
The new director, whose last birthday was celebrated for him by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, has described the appointment as a welcome development.
Kayode-Adedeji assured that he would contribute his quota to the development of the Foundation, adding that he would participate actively in the dissemination of relevant information that would enhance the positive image of the Foundation.
The journalist further stressed that he considered his appointment as his contribution to the developmental growth of the Foundation and the beneficiaries of its activities.
“As a Non-Governmental Organisation, I know I am not there for any salary,” Kayode-Adedeji said, adding “but my passion for the interest of the welfare of the less privileged and the Foundation’s genuine efforts to address a number of social vices, particularly among the youths, is my motivating factor to be part of the system.”
“I also appreciate the Executive Director of the Foundation for considering me for the appointment,” he stressed.
