Auto crash kills four pedestrians in Ogun

NIGERIA: FOUR pedestrians died while five others were critically injured on Monday in a multiple motor crash in Ajegunle area of Sagamu Local Government of Ogun State.
The Public Relations Officer of the Compliance and Enforcement agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the accident to journalists on Tuesday, said that it was a multiple accident.
According to him, the vehicles involved were a MAN Diesel truck with registration number LAGOS GGE 834 XM, MARK truck with registration number LAGOS LSR 930 XH and a Mazda ‘626’ car marked LAGOS KSF 726 CD.
Akinbiyi stated that the crash, which occurred around 2.30pm Monday afternoon, was caused by one of the trucks with brake failure.
He explained that the truck crashed into the MARK truck and the Mazda ‘626’ before killing their victims.
The TRACE image maker said that all the victims were pedestrians at the Ajegunle area of Sagamu metropolis, who were caught unaware.
He, however, said that the corpses of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu.
The injured were also taken to the same hospital for treatment, he added.
