NIGERIA: APPARENTLY to show his human kindness, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abdulmajid Ali, has donated an orphanage home to his community.
The commissioner said at the commissioning in Kontangora in Niger State that the project was to commemorate the launch of MJ Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation.
According to him, the foundation was the initiative of his late daughter, Majidat, who was so much concern about the plight of the less privileged persons while still alive.
Ali said at the ceremony, which was attended by the Serki Sudan of Kontagora, Saidu Namaska, other dignitaries and included the empowerment of some artisans, that he would always remember Majidat for her concern and love for the younger ones and the less privileged people.
He explained that with the commissioning of the Saidu Namaska Orphanage Home he would continue to sustain her late daughter’s goals and objectives to put smiles on the faces of the disadvantaged Nigerians.
The chairman of the event, Sanni Bello, charged indigenes of Kontagora Emirate to emulate Ali’s kind gesture.
Bello, who is a retired Army Colonel, stated that the kindness shown by Ali was the first in the community.
