Osun honours NECO, WAEC’s overall best student

NIGERIA: OSUN State Government has conferred Ambassador Award on a student of Our Lady and St. Frances Catholic College, Osogbo, Philip Toluwalase Alabi.
The award is in recognition of the brilliant performance of Alabi, who emerged as the overall best student in Nigeria in the June/July 2015 National Examination Council (NECO) Senior Secondary School Examination.
Alabi, a native of Ila Orangun in Ejigbo Local Government area of the state, was hosted at the Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo.
Governor Rauf Aregbesola, who was represented by his Deputy, Mrs. Titi Laoye-Tomori, commended the student’s academic feat.
The newly crowned ambassador got A1 Distinction in all the nine subjects he wrote and similarly got A1 Distinction in all subjects in West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE), except Civil Education where he got B2.
The student has also received a commendation award from National Examination Council (NECO) as overall best student in the 2015 examination.
Sources told GatewayMail that Alabi, who has chosen to study Medicine, would be heading to the University of Ibadan to pursue his preferred profession.
