NIGERIA: EKITI State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has declared that no matter the party differences, the interest of Yoruba race should be uppermost in the minds of political office holders in the South West.

*Ayo Fayose...Ekiti State Governor.
*Governor Fayose.
*Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.
*Governor Aregbesola.

Fayose stated this on Tuesday when he paid a visit to his Osun State counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola, at the Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo.
Fayose stated that his visit to Aregbesola was not political, but on the unity of Yoruba race and its development.
He said that he was not ready to leave the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the party on whose platform he became the governor, to join any other party, adding that the Yoruba race was greater than any political office hence his belief in the development of the race.
Fayose said that the visit to Aregbesola was his first official visit to any All Progressive Congress (APC) state.

The controversial governor pointed out that the visit was based on his belief in the unity of the Yoruba race.
“I believe in the Yoruba race, the race comes first before the office of the governor. The race is eternal while that of governor is for a period of time,” he said.
Earlier, Aregbesola described Fayose’s visit to the state as a demonstration of maturity, saying that it takes a much matured human being to know that at the end of every public office, he will be left with humanity.

The host governor urged Fayose to direct his energy towards bringing human physical development to the Western region in particular and Nigeria as a nation in general.
Aregbesola assured Fayose that he would stand by him in his efforts to bring together the people of the South-West for quick development.
“We must use our culture and affinities to form a bond that can make our people live a normal life, it is a duty that we owe our people, states and the nation Nigeria.”
