Six bandits raid students’ populated residence in Ogun

NIGERIA: SIX armed bandits on Wednesday stormed the students’ populated building located in Ijeja area of Abeokuta, Ogun State capital where they made away with a number of valuable items.
GatewayMail gathered that the robbers arrived the Baala’s Compound around 3am through the back window of the bathroom before they started the raid.
The tenants, comprising largely students, were said to be fast asleep when the bandits arrived, but in the course of the robbery operations some of the students woke up to thwart the raid.
But, the robbers were able to cart away some items which included cellphones, Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards and N8, 000.
A victim, Oseni Ismail, explained that the robbers gained access into the compound through the bathroom and entered the first boy’s quarters into his room.
Oseni said that the bandits later escaped when one of the tenants, Philomena, woke up and raised the alarm, adding that the case was later reported at the police station.
In a related development, a commercial motorcyclist, Abdulateef Samsudeen, has lost his motorcycle to a robber in Kuto area of Abeokuta.
The suspect was said to have boarded the motorcycle from Kuto to Oluwo area of the town, but on arrival at the destination the he entered a house pretending to be a resident having asked the motorcyclist to wait so that he can get fare for him.
However, the motorcyclist after waiting for long and didn’t see his passenger decided to check him in the compound.
He searched but could not locate the whereabouts of the bandit, but the development took a dramatic turn when the motorcyclist returned to take his motorcycle registration number WDE 950 QA and chassis no MDZA18AZ8CWH4760 only to discovered that it had been stolen where it was parked.
