NIGERIA: From the bottom of her heart, a former lawmaker in the Ogun State House of Assembly has expressed appreciation to residents of her constituency for the opportunity to serve them.

The legislator, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo, represented Ifo 2 State Constituency in the 7th legislative session of the assembly, where she served two terms of four years each on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) before defecting to the PDP.

She contested for the House of Representatives on the PDP ticket in the last general election for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, but lost.

In a Facebook message, entitled “A grateful heart,” the lawmaker said: “It was indeed a period that I will treasure for life but let me quickly add that it wouldn’t have been possible if not for your support.

“I want to therefore use this opportunity to thank the good people of Ifo 2 State Constituency for giving me the mandate to represent them for good eight years in the House of Assembly.”

“This is a first in the history of Ifo 2 State Constituency as no one has served twice from that constituency in the Ogun State House of Assembly,” Adeleye-Oladapo said, adding: “You equally made me the first female and the youngest member to have represented our constituency. I thank you tremendously for the confidence you reposed in me.”

While explaining that she enjoyed the companionship of the residents of the constituency “throughout the tortuous struggle,” she emphasised: “I really don’t know where to start from because both are great things that the Lord has done for me and they are indeed marvellous in my sight. So, as my friends, I deemed it imperative to share my Joy with you.”

“Let me start this way. The 7th Assembly ended on Thursday 4th June, 2015 and so ended my eighth years in the Ogun State House of Assembly as the representative of the good people of Ifo 2 State Constituency,” the lawmaker, who also marked her birthday, stressed.

She maintained: “Of course there is time for everything under the sun like the bible says. So, it was time for me to take a bow, albeit, temporarily. However, it was eight memorable years.  I have every reason to be grateful to God for his mercies and protection.”

While reviewing her tortuous journey of lawmaking, she stated: “When I cast my mind back to when the journey of the struggle for recognition of the people of Ifo 2 started; the hurdles that were crossed, the valley of the shadow of death that I threaded, the sleepless nights occasioned by my stance against oppression and bad leadership, my struggle for the emancipation of the people of Ogun State at large and Ifo 2 in particular, the number of people that fell along the way, the sacrifices, the betrayals, the low and, of course, the high moments, I can’t but give all thanks to the Almighty God for bringing me this far.

She stated further: “Secondly, as you read this piece, it will interest you to know that I am a year older today.  My bible taught me to count my years so that I can put my mind by the way of wisdom.”

“Within the short period I have spent on earth, many water have passed under the bridge like the popular saying goes,” the lawmaker said, stressing further: “The storm has been massive but in His infinite mercy, God saw me through.  Isn’t it enough for me to shout Hosanna in the highest?”

The lawmaker added: “For me, adding another year in good health, just at the time my tenure at the State Assembly ended successfully is more than enough reason for me to appreciate God.

“I urge you to please, in your way, join me in returning all glory to God from whom all blessings flow,” Adeleye-Oladapo maintained, stressing further that “in all things, I give thanks to God.”

obviously just like your web-site but the truth is have to confirm the transliteration in several of the discussions. A few of them usually are rife using punctuational difficulties and i also to uncover the idea pretty troublesome in all honesty on the other hand We’ll certainly keep coming back once again.
