Ogun approves ex-Reps member as traditional ruler in Yewa

NIGERIA: FROM the Ogun State government has come good news to a former member of the House of Representatives.

The government of Senator Ibikunle Amosun said that it has approved the appointment of Honorable Rasak Tunde Adewusi as a traditional ruler in the state.

The 56-year-old Adewusi, who served as Chairman of the House Committee on State and Local Government Affairs between 2011 and 2015, represented Yewa North/Imeko-Afon Federal Constituency for three terms consecutively from 2003 to 2015.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Taiwo Adeoluwa, said on Monday in a release that the approval, affirmed the ex-federal lawmaker as the traditional ruler of Ijoun in Yewa North Local Government Area.
Said Adeoluwa: “The Ogun State Government has approved the appointment of a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. (Prince) Rasak Tunde Adewusi as the new Onijoun of Ijoun, Yewa North Local Government Area of the State.”
He stated that the new ruler had at different times been a teacher and customs officer before he ventured into politics and won seat into the House of Representatives.

Adeoluwa charged the monarch to use the opportunity of his ascension to the “exalted throne to further engender cooperation and peace in his domain.”
