Ogun: Police, SSS agree on strategies to combat crimes

NIGERIA: THE Ogun State Police Command and the State Security Services (SSS) have agreed on joint planning and strategies to ensure effective policing of the Gateway State.
The decision to engaged in combined strategies came to light on Monday when the state Police Commissioner, Mr. Abdulmajid Ali held a meeting with the new Director of SSS, Mr. Kabiru Sanni, in his Eleweran Police Command headquarters.
At a meeting attended by Ali, five of his men, and Sanni, who was accompanied by the Deputy Director of Administration, Mr. Folorunsho Alade, the two security agencies agreed to collaborate together to combat crimes.
The police chiefs present at the meeting included the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, Celestine Okoye, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Investigation and Intelligence, Shina Olukolu, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Bello Makwashi, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Rotimi Adelesi and the Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi.
The team deliberated and agreed on how to put measures in place to provide adequate security for lives and property of the people.
“The deliberation and collaboration came to front burner when the new Director of the Department of State Services, Ogun State, Mr Kabiru Sanni, paid a courtesy visit on the Commissioner of Police Ogun State, Mr. Abdulmajid Ali at the Police Command headquarters Elekweran Abeokuta on Monday,” Adejobi said in a release made available to the GatewayMail.
Adejobi said further that Sanni commended Ali for his good sterling leadership qualities and commitment to collaborate with all stakeholders in security business, particularly security agencies in the state.
“The Commissioner of Police CP Abdulmajid Ali reiterated his commitment to flush out cultists and criminals out of Ogun State,” the police image maker said, adding: “He further emphasized on having robust intelligence-driven policing by incorporating stakeholders with regular security workshops for all concerned in the state.”
Adejobi stressed: “With the deliberation, it’s obvious that the two security chiefs would harness all available resources within their reach to solidify the existing security networking in Ogun State, the Gateway State.”
