Buhari appoints 18, redeploys 18 federal permanent secretaries

NIGERIA: PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of 18 new federal permanent secretaries.

Similarly, the President redeployed 18 other permanent secretaries alongside the new appointees.

The new appointees, according to the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Mr. Femi Adesina,

include Mrs. Ayotunde Adesugba, Alhaji Mahmoud Isa-Dutse, Mr. Taiwo Abidogun, Dr. Bukar Hassan, Mrs. Wakama Belema Asifieka, Mr. Jalal Ahmad Arabi, Mr. Sabiu Zakari, Mrs. Obiageli Phyllis Nwokedi, Mr. Aminu Nabegu, Mr. Bamgbose Olukunle Oladele, and Mr. Alo Williams Nwankwo.

Others are Dr. Shehu Ahmed, Mr. Ogbonnaya Innocent Kalu, Mrs. Nuratu Jimoh Batagarawa, Mr. Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa, Mr. Bassey Apkanyung, Mr. Louis Edozien and Dr. Ugo Roy.

According to Adesina, the deployed officers and their offices are as follow: Dr. Shehu Ahmad – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Arch Sunday Echono – Ministry of Communications, Alhaji Sabiu Zakari – Ministry of Transportation, Mrs. Ayotunde Adesugba – Ministry of Information and Culture, Ambassador Danjuma Sheni – Ministry of Defence, Dr. Shade Yemi-Esan – Ministry of Education, Mrs. Fatima Mede – Budget and National Planning, Alhaji Mahmoud Isa Dutse – Ministry of Finance, Ambassador Bulus Lolo – Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Amina Shamaki – Ministry of Health, Mr. Aliyu Bisalla – Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Bassey Akpanyung – Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mr. Taiwo Abidogun – Ministry of Justice, and Dr. Habiba Lawal – Ministry of Science and Tech.

Others are Dr. Clement Illoh – Ministry of Labour and Productivity, Dr. Jamila Shu’ara – Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Binta Bello – Ministry of Women Affairs, Dr. Babatope Ajakaiye – Federal Capital Territory, Mrs. Rabi Jimeta – Ministry of Water Resources, Dr. Bukar Hassan – Ministry of Environment, Mrs. Wakama B. “The new appointments and deployments are with effect from today, November 10, 2015,” Adesina said.
