NIGERIA: OGUN State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has issued a stern warning to his newly appointed special advisers and consultants.

Amosun, who had prior last week sworn in his commissioners and some of the special advisers and consultants, told the new appointees that their appointments were not to engage in rivalry with the permanent secretaries in their respective postings, but to complement their efforts.

*Amosun…Ogun State Governor.

The three new Special Advisers are Dr. Rotimi Ogungbe, Mr. Oluwasegun Adesanya and Mr. Akinola Lawson, while the 10 consultants included Mr. Shehu Olanrewaju Adebayo, Prince Niyi Adesanya, Alhaji Bola Adeyemi and Mrs. Aderonke Onadeko.
Others at the event held at the Okemosan Governor’s Office in Abeokuta are Mr. Taiwo Fagbemi, Alhaji Moshood Taiwo, Dr. Tunji Abimbola, Mr. Musibau Oyefeso, Mrs. Bolanle Kuku and Mr. Dipo Oyewole.

Amosun, who also administered oath of office on Architect Segun Abiodun as the Housing Commissioner, said: “The call to serve is good but living up-to-expectation is more paramount. You just have to know that you are not working for Amosun but for the good people of the state. We are drivers of the rebuilding mission.”

“If Ogun is going to get it right, it would be based on all of us. The way forward is to re-double our efforts in completing the tasks ahead,” the governor stressed.
He maintained: “You are not in competition with the Permanent Secretaries in various Ministries, Department and Agencies you will be posted. You are to complement their efforts for a better Ogun.’’

The governor enjoined them to work in conjunction with the Permanent Secretaries and the entire workforce, while charging them to redouble their energy to aid the growth of the state.

He told them that the development and growth of the state in the next four years depended largely on their input, just as he charged them to join in the rebuilding mission of his administration.

Mr. Akinola, who spoke on behalf of the appointees, promised that they would give the best in them in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Akinola commended the governor on the opportunity he gave them to serve the state and assured that they would not dispaooint him.
