Ogun: Kidnappers grab four-year-old boy, escape in taxi amidst shooting

NIGERIA: A FOUR-YEAR boy has been kidnapped by suspected gunmen in Laderin Estate, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The parents of the boy have raised the alarm for help over the incidence said to have occurred around 5pm on Monday.
The couple, Dr. and Mrs. Mucipay Kanu, disclosed that their son was seized by the kinappers and taken away where he was playing in the compound with their dog.
They stated further that the gunmen had knocked on the family compound gate and on hearing this, their son rushed to open the gate only to be grabbed by the suspects who came in an unnumbered taxi that was parked by the gate.
According to them, the taxi sped off toward the NNPC-Abiola Way while the suspects shot indiscriminately into the air apparently to scare people away.

While speaking on the development, the state Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, stated that all police formations in the state had been put on alert as they were promptly informed and ordered to rescue the boy and apprehend the suspected kidnappers.
He assured that the boy would be rescued and returned to his family soon.
