NIGERIA: A DECADE after  the death of his wife, Stella, ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo said he would continue to lament her painful death.

Obasanjo said he would, no doubt, for the rest of his life miss Stella.
He spoke at the 10^th memorial service held at the Chapel of Christ the Glorious King within Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) complex, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
Obasanjo explained that the Obasanjo family and his wife’s, Abebe, would always miss Stella who died on October 23, 2005 during a medical operation in a Spanish hospital.

Though he said he had mentioned a lot about his late wife in his book, “My Watch”, but declared that “she will dearly be missed by me, my family and the Abebe family.”
Some of those present at the event also spoke well of the wife of the former president, with  Mr. John Abebe saying that her late sister would forever remain loved and her absence continued to be felt all the time.

Also Senator Ben Bruce said that Stella was a unique and global woman who played her significant roles in the

society while alive, while Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Ekiti State, Engr. Segun Oni said that the late woman was full of humility and integrity.

While delivering his sermon, Pastor Yussuf Obaje extolled the virtues of Stella and urged that her legacy should be kept alive by the family members.

Among dignitaries at the event were Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunke Amosun, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Ms Evelyn Oputu and former Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Funso Kupolokun.
