CANADA: ONTARIO Province Premier, Kathleen Wynne, has congratulated the newly elected Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau.
Wynne, who is of the same Liberal Party with Trudeau, said with the victory, she looks forward to working with the new federal government.
“I want to congratulate Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party of Canada on their
federal election victory,” Wynne, the first woman Premier of Ontario said. “They have received a clear mandate to govern from the people of Canada. I look forward to working in co-operation with our new federal partner on behalf of the people of Ontario.”
She added: “I also want to congratulate everyone elected, and thank every candidate who put his or her name on a ballot. It takes courage to put your name forward for elected office, and you have made a valuable contribution to our healthy democracy.”
“To Canadians from coast to coast to coast who cast a ballot, thank you. Your participation keeps our country strong,” Wynne also said.
Canadians had on Monday elected Trudeau and his party, with majority seat, to succeed incumbent Prime Minister, Stephen Harper of the Conservatives Party, whose party suffered outstanding defeat in the 42nd election in the history of the North American country.
With 189 seats in the House of Commons, Liberal unseated Conservatives which has 103 seats, and edged out National Democratic Party which got 35, Bloc Quebecois 10, and Green Party 1 – won by its leader, Elizabeth May.
A party needs 170 seats to win convincingly to form government in Canada’s parliamentary system of government.
Trudeau, the 43-year-old eldest son of former Prime Minister of Canada Pierre Trudeau, came to power 47 years after his late father was elected on the ticket of the same Liberal Party.
“On behalf of 35 millions Canadians, we’re back,” a highly elated Trudeau said, adding: “This is what a positive, hopeful vision and platform and team can make happen.”
He spoke on Tuesday, a day after his victory, at a rally of Liberal volunteers in Ottawa, the seat of government.
“The work has only just begun,” Trudeau also said. “If there’s any country in the world that can live up to our collective expectations it’s this one.”
Spot on with this write-up, I really believe that this website needs far more attention. I’ll probably be back again to see more, thanks for the advice!
