NIGERIA: A NON-Governmental Organisation, World Kindness Nigeria (WKN), has called on kind-hearted Nigerians to join its crusade in instilling the spirit of kindness in the society.
The Ogun State chapter of the WKN made the plea on the day it decided to offer kindness to the vulnerable children in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The group said, which did not disclose the nature of the kind gesture, stated that it would extend hands of assistance to inmates of the Gideon Orphanage Home, Asero, Abeokuta.
The move was part of the WKN’s contributions to commemorate the nation’s 55th independence anniversary, the Ogun State Coordinator, Bosun Morenikeji said in a release made available to GatewayMail.
The NGO explained that it was fully prepared to go into “partnerships with individuals and organizations committed in instilling the values of kindness in the society and the Nigerian nation, at large.”
“In commemoration of the 55th Independence Anniversary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and as part of her commitment to contributing to a kinder society, the Ogun State chapter of the World Kindness Nigeria will be extending hands of kindness to vulnerable children in Abeokuta, the state capital,” WKN explained.
According to the group, the WKN is the national peak body for kindness in the country, committed to rallying all sectors of the Nigerian community and influencing world leaders to work together to develop acts of kindness and creating a kinder world.
“This is done through projects that creates greater understanding and co-operation among all people and promote the adoption of the values of respect rather than intolerance, inclusion rather than exclusion, gratitude rather than attitude and provision rather than exploitation,” Morenikeji said, adding: “The World Kindness Nigeria is a member of the World Kindness Movement.”
