A President with only N30m

SEEING the assets declared by President Muhammadu Buhari, with only N30 million as cash and operating only one single bank account with the Union Bank Of Nigeria as reported by some national newspapers, is the eight wonders of the world!

Imagine a person that has held sensitive political appointments, which include Military Governor, Federal Commissioner in charge of the Petroluem Ministry, a former Military Head of State declaring a paltry N30 million!

He was also the Chairman of the Petroleum Trust Fund, who was given the free hand to run the affairs of the trust fund by late General Sani Abacha, but still didn’t soil his name in corrupt activities. He has proved to be the most honest public official that is untainted with this open declaration.

No doubt, that was why a lot of people in the country hinged their hope on him to make a difference in their lives and ensure the progress and development of Nigeria.

President Muhammadu Buhari, by this singular act, has proved the fact that he sought the highest position in the land in order to put the country on the right track for prosperity.  The modest amount declared by President Muhammadu Buhari has shown that he is an incorruptible person. Imagine a person, who was the oil Minister during the oil boom era in the 70’s, but he is not a proud owner of an oil well. He has proved to even the discerning minds that he meant well for his fellow Nigerians.

This country would, no doubt, benefit from the wisdomic sagacity of President Muhammad Buhari, because with this open declaration of his assets and cash worth just a meagre sum, that was his total cash earning, he is set to turn this country around for good.  With his modest wealth, which is a sharp contrast to other leaders in the country, who are worth billions in cash and properties scattered all over the federation, he has shown that he does not aspire for the leadership of this country for personal aggrandisement, but rather to make difference in the scheme of things in the country.

The modest assets declared by President Muhammadu Buhari have proved him to rank as the most honest leader that this country ever produced.   He is, indeed, a role model for the coming generations. And President Muhammad Buhari would live above board in the discharge of his official conduct and responsibility entrusted in him as a public servant.  This I can say and I want my fellow countrymen and women to believe in him.  Indeed, President Buhar has come with his utmost desire of his administration to turn this country around for good, and to better the lot of Nigerians.
