Amosun retains six ex-commissioners in new list sent to Assembly

NIGERIA: OGUN State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Wednesday sent the list of his commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly.

The governor told the lawmakers to screen the list and approve those qualified to work with him during his second term.

Speaker of the House, Hon. Suraj Adekunbi, who read the governor’s letter at the plenary session, informed his fellow lawmakers that Amosun had written to seek their screening and confirmation of the nominees.

Among those on the list are former commissioners for Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun; Agriculture, Mrs Ronke Sofekun; Local Government and Chieftains Affairs, Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo; and Works and Infrastructure, Arch. Olamilekan Adegbite.
Others commissioners, who served during the first term with the governor and are likely to be reappointed, again, are Commerce, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru; and Tourism, Yewade Amusan.
The new nominees for screening and approval or rejection by the house are Architect Segun Abiodun, Hon. Jide Ojuko, Mr. Sunday Segun Bamiwola, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye, Mr. Bolaji Oyeleye, Barrister Leke Adewolu, Mr Folabi Afuape, Mr. Gbenga Ademosun, Chief Kolawole Wasiu Lawal and Dr. (Barrister) Olumide Ayeni.
