Senator hails Ambode over commissioner, special adviser nominees

NIGERIA: A SENATOR from Lagos State has commended Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on the qualities of men and women he presented to the state House of Assembly for screening as commissioners and special advisers.
Senator Solomon Adeola, who represents Lagos West Senatorial District in the Upper Chamber, submitted that the nominees have the experience and exposure to continue the development of Lagos as a mega city.
The Senator, whose victory in the last general election was recently
upheld by the tribunal, said with a professor, six lawyers, three experienced medical doctors, two journalists amongst other tested professionals, he had no doubt in the ability of the Ambode administration to take Lagos State to a new height that will make it first among other states.
Senator Adeola said further in a release signed by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Chief Kayode Odunaro, that the myriad of experiences of the chosen men and women would be to better advantages of the state.
Senator Adeola, who spoke in Epe, Lagos State, said: “I must say I am impressed with the painstaking efforts of the governor in choosing a team that comprise an admixture of technocrats, politicians and strategists as represented by such persons as Dr. Babatunde Adejare, a medical doctor and tested state and federal legislator, Steve Ayorinde, a tested newspaper editor, Kehinde Bamigetan, a journalist cum politician, Dr. Mustapha Akinkunmi, a financial expert, Professor Ademola Abass, a professor of law and Kehinde Joseph, a grassroots politicians of many years standing among others.”
Senator Adeola said that it was a major advantage that most of the nominees have been part of governance and
politics in Lagos State at various levels and arms of government since the advent of the nation’s democracy.
He maintained that the myriad of experiences of the chosen personalities would greatly help the administration to achieve desired goals at the earliest time.
The senator promised to continue to champion the struggle for a special status and funding for Lagos State as the former federal capital and the economic capital of the country.
He stressed that with a Federal Government under an APC government it is hoped that the injustice of abandoning Lagos by the government at the center will end.
