Shocker: Lagos Assembly Chief Matron dies in office weekend

A clearner, Nimota Saka, discovered the body of Caroline Kikelomo Oriola in her office on Monday, when she went for cleaning.
Oriola, according to sources, had gone to office on Saturday, a non-working day, for undisclosed reasons, but did not return home thus putting his family in a state of confusion.
Though a source told GatewayMail that she went to pick some drugs, but it was learnt that she drove to the assembly complex and parked before signing for her office key at the security desk.
After waiting endlessly at home, the deceased husband stormed the assembly complex to search for her, but returned home disappointed as he could not locate his wife’s car because, unfortunately, she parked it at the lawmakers’ car park instead of the general parking lot.
Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Patricia Amadin, confirmed the incident, saying that the Alausa Police was informed about the death around 7.15am on Monday.
Amadin, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, who said police had visited the clinic and found the deceased body on the floor, said preliminary investigation revealed that there was no evidence of violence on her.
“We got information that she came to the office at about 9.58 am on Saturday all alone in her department,” Amadin said, adding: “She was suspected to have collapsed in the office.”
She added: “The corpse has been deposited at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja mortuary for autopsy.”
GatewayMail gathered that the Clerk of the House, Segun Abiru, led some staff who accompanied officials to deposit the the deceased body at the morgue.
