NIGERIA: THE United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, on Sunday begins a two-day official visit to Nigeria.

The UN scribe, it was learnt, is expected to meet and hold talks on Monday with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

According to the UN Information Centre in Lagos, Ki-Moon would a day earlier hold talks with the 36 state governors.

The UN centre explained in the secretary-general`s itinerary that the dialogue with the governors has as its theme “Pathways to a New Nigeria – the Role of Sub-national Governments.”

And as part of activities to mark the fourth year anniversary of the bombing of the United Nations building in Abuja, the federal capital territory, Ki-Moon would lay a wreath in memory of those killed during the blast.

Ki-Moon would also have lunch with members of the business community at the conversation tagged “The role of Nigeria business and the economy in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals and addressing climate change.”

Furthermore, it was gathered, the UN chief would partake in myriad of activities, which included visit to immunisation centres.

He is also to hold dialogue on democracy, human rights and countering violent extremism, before leaving later on Monday, the itinerary explained.
