NIGERIA: LEGAL practitioners in Nigeria will this year gather in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to discuss continuing professional development issues and a broad range of topics to enhance their profession.
According to the Section on Legal Practice of the Nigerian Bar Association (SLP NBA) among other significant issues for talks at the two-day event are disciplinary issues, problems impeding lawyers’ fee earning capabilities, election matters, effective prosecution of white collar and economic crimes.
A news release signed by the General Secretary of the NBA, Aare Isiaka Abiola Olagunju, explained that the conference with the theme “Re-thinking and Re-tooling legal practice for the challenges of our time” would hold between Thursday, April 12 and Friday, April 13, 2018.
The release directed members of the NBA to follow the procedures for registration and ensure necessary payments, failure of which their participation will not be allowed.
“Please also take notice that the SLP website is currently being revamped to make it more dynamic and user friendly,” the release explained, adding: “As soon as online registration commences, members will be duly informed.”
It urged members who are in need of further information to contact SLP Section Officer, Fadekemi Ottun, on fadekeslp@gmail.com/08023237877.
