According to the Command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, a female victim lodged a complaint at Ojodu Abiodun Police Division that she was picked in a taxi by three men on December 29 from Fela Shrine in Oregun area of Lagos State to Iwo Street in Ojodu Abiodun on an agreed fare.

Oyeyemi explained that the victim stated that shortly after, the brothers forcefully dragged her down and had sex with her.

The victim, according to Oyeyemi, who is an Assistant Superintendent of Police, further said that the suspects also dispossessed the victim of her belongings.

He also said that the victim further stated that she sighted the three men at Adebayo area of Ojodu and was able to recognize them.

“Upon her report, the DPO Ojodu Abiodun Sp Bamidele Job detailed detectives to the area where two of the suspects were arrested while the third one escaped,” the police image maker said.

Oyeyemi added that on interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime while further investigation by policemen revealed that they have been involved in series of rape cases around that area.

The PPRO also said that their mode of operation was to use Uber taxi to pick their victims to an isolated area where such victims are raped in turn before dispossessing them of their belongings.

“Some of the victim’s properties such as necklace, phone and wrist watch were recovered from them,” Oyeyemi said.

The image maker maintained that the Police Commissioner, Mr. Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that the two brothers should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation and prosecution.

He also said that Iliyasu equally ordered that the escaped member of the group must be arrested and brought to justice.
