According to report, Governors Akinwumi Ambode (Lagos), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Ayodele Fayose (Ekiti) and Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo) attended the meeting, while Mrs. Yetunde Onanuga, the Deputy Governor of Ogun State represented her boss, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

Akeredolu, who briefed journalists on behalf of his colleagues, said that their gathering was a brief meeting to put heads together as leaders of the region to have a position to be presented to the national assembly and other stakeholders on the coming constitution review.

“As you have seen all of us coming together as Oduduwa brothers, we are finding solutions to matters that we believe are of common interest to us all,” he said, adding: “We are doing it together.  One of the issues that we tried to look at is the amendment of the constitution.”

He further said: “We want to forge a common position and ask our houses of assemblies as well as other stakeholders to tow the same line for us to achieve our common goal.”

The meeting was centered on the need for the region to have a common position on national issues and efforts at reviewing the constitution of Nigeria.
